Pearl is our beloved therapy dog and a very special part of the Hillcrest Elementary community. She is owned and handled by Kelly Hayes, our PTO Co-Vice President, and generously shares her time and calm presence with our students and staff.

What does pearl do?
How Pearl Helps at Hillcrest
Pearl regularly visits classrooms at the request of teachers, providing students with a calming and supportive presence. Whether it’s helping students relax, refocus, or simply enjoy a quiet moment, Pearl has a wonderful way of connecting with kids and making school feel a little brighter.
Her gentle nature and training allow her to support social-emotional learning, reduce stress, and promote kindness and empathy throughout our school.
Beyond Our School
Pearl’s impact reaches far beyond Hillcrest. She also visits local libraries and elderly care homes, where she brings joy, comfort, and companionship to community members of all ages. Wherever she goes, Pearl leaves smiles behind.
